The Marsh alumnus, who came onboard AXA XL predecessor company Catlin Underwriting Agencies Ltd in 2005, will be in charge of developing the UK energy book as well as designing innovative insurance solutions for energy clients.

Succeeding Luis Prato, who last month became chief underwriting officer for UK legal entities, Welton will lead a team of underwriters in London.
