AXA UK, which is busy growing its delegated authorities business, has snapped up two senior executives to join the DA team.
Hiscox veteran Gary Head will come onboard in 2020 to serve as AXA UK’s director of delegated authorities, bringing 23 years of experience from the specialist insurer. The former chief underwriting officer most recently held the position of managing director of alternative distribution.
“It is an absolute privilege to be given the opportunity to build on the great success the team has already achieved,” stated Head. “I can’t wait to bring the might of the AXA brand to the table for existing and new partners alike.”
Also beefing up the DA unit starting January is Joel Markham (pictured), whose 14-year career includes stints at Allianz and Zurich. The incoming head of sales and marketing for delegated authorities is making the switch from Ageas where he was in charge of regional distribution for both personal and commercial lines.
Commenting on his appointment, Markham said: “I am extremely excited to be joining the AXA team at an important time in their growth plans. I have heard great things from broker partners about the quality of people, the market-leading proposition, and their desire to grow with AXA. It is a business I have admired from afar for a number of years.”
Director of commercial intermediary Deepak Soni, meanwhile, a contributor to the Insurance Business UK SME Insurance report, is confident that AXA UK’s broker partners will be looking forward to working with the team next year on new and existing opportunities.
