Major insurer AXA has created 60 jobs for its new £14 million customer centre in Londonderry.
A BBC report said recruitment is ongoing, with the staff count in Derry set to rise to over 600 when the new colleagues at Springtown business park are onboarded. It was noted that AXA currently has more than 740 employees in Northern Ireland.
According to Ireland chief executive Phil Bradley – who oversees the group’s general insurance business in Northern Ireland and in the Republic of Ireland – the hiring spree further strengthens AXA’s commitment to Derry, where it has been doing business since 2007.
Additionally, the expansion will allow AXA to continue to build on its Northern Ireland presence while, more broadly, growing the insurer’s operations across the island.
The posts being filled are full-time permanent positions.
In a similar development earlier this month, Cardiff-headquartered insurer Admiral Group Plc said it was looking to hire approximately 120 people throughout 2021 for its technology department.
