AXA has broken new ground by joining the panel of Sunderland-based broker Just Travel.
The move marks the first time that AXA has been named on the panel of a travel insurance intermediary of this size. The firms have struck a three-year deal with policies to be sold under the brand Free 2 Travel.
In a company statement outlining the deal, Nel Mooy, head of travel at AXA Insurance, outlined that the relationship would reinforce the insurer’s commitment to supporting independent travel insurance providers while also growing its own presence in the market.
“We are delighted to be able to partner with Just Travel – a growing player in the travel insurance space,” Mooy said. “This deal supports our ambition to grow our travel insurance book and to support brokers in this space.”
Andrew Jackson, managing director of Just Travel, was similarly enthusiastic.
“The travel market is constantly changing so it is vital that we work with partners that are able to meet the needs of our clients,” he said. “Working with such a recognised brand as AXA will allow us to strengthen our position in the travel insurance space.”
