Aviva customers who work for the NHS will get automatic free coverage from the British insurance giant.
To show its appreciation for these coronavirus frontliners, the insurer said it will provide free breakdown cover to NHS workers who have an Aviva, Quotemehappy, or General Accident branded policy.
Free enhanced personal belongings cover can also be accessed by home contents policyholders who work at the NHS if their belongings are lost, damaged, or stolen while they are working or commuting.
Meanwhile NHS workers with an Aviva motor policy will get a free courtesy car if their vehicle is involved in an accident. In addition, they will be afforded priority repairs on motor claims so that these vital workers can get back on the road as quickly as possible.
As a further ‘thank you’, Aviva will be extending cover for people who volunteer through the NHS, Red Cross, or other local community schemes.
“If Aviva, Quotemehappy, or General Accident motor customers use a vehicle to transport medicines or groceries to support others affected by COVID-19, they’ll be covered with their motor policy,” noted the firm.
“The extra cover is available immediately. NHS workers or volunteers do not need to call us to arrange these as they will apply automatically if they need to make a claim.”
In a separate development, Aviva and the Aviva Foundation have committed to an additional donation of £10 million to the British Red Cross since the outbreak of the coronavirus.
