Aviva outlines global growth plans

Aviva’s Global Corporate and Speciality (GCS) division has unveiled a new global service proposition as part of the insurer’s expansion plans. The move aims to enhance Aviva GCS’s international diversification and accelerate the growth of its multinational and delegated underwriting authority (DUA) segments.

The integration of DUA and lead multinational operations under the new proposition is designed to support Aviva’s global ambitions. Additionally, a revitalised captives offering is set for launch later this year.

Under the leadership of multinational director Belinda Steedman (pictured), the service proposition leverages Aviva’s international capabilities. Over the past few years, Aviva has strengthened its network to ensure coverage in key regions, allowing for the expansion of various business lines and the enhancement of service delivery.

According to Aviva, its £130 million gross written premium multinational business has a partner network that spans more than 150 territories and 95% of the world’s gross domestic product.

To achieve further growth, Aviva has restructured its multinational team with the following appointments:

  • Liam Bright – head of global network partnerships
  • Brandon Akem – head of global assurance
  • Chrys Katramados – head of global service for multinational and DUAs
  • Laura Harrison – captives manager
  • Richard Driver – strategic product owner
  • Wing Yau – strategic insights manager

“I’m delighted to announce our new global service proposition,” Steedman said. “This move signals to the market that Aviva is serious about supporting its clients across the globe, particularly against the backdrop of an evolving risk landscape.

“We’re bolstering our talent pool by bringing in new roles and capability to complement an already experienced team. Our ambition is to be one of the top global carriers in the market, with a broad product offering, and we’ll continue working hard to achieve this."

The multinational expansion comes on the heels of Aviva’s Lloyd’s market entry earlier this month. Also part of GCS’s growth, the foray into Lloyd’s was facilitated by the group’s swoop for Probitas.
