To say that Aviva Plc is going through changes under the leadership of chief executive Maurice Tulloch is perhaps putting it lightly.
In recent months we’ve seen the departure of major names such as UK insurance CEO Andy Briggs and chief financial officer Tom Stoddard; now, if reports are to believed, it looks like managing director of UK general insurance Rob Townend is heading for the door soon.
“I would like to personally thank Rob Townend for the contribution he has made to Aviva over many years,” Eastern Daily Press quoted general insurance chief executive Colm Holmes as saying.
“His skill and experience have helped transform our general insurance business and his tireless campaigning on personal injury reform, to address the compensation culture, has even helped change the law in the UK. Rob and I will continue to work closely together over the next few months and I wish him all the best for the future.”
Meanwhile, according to the report, other leadership changes include Aviva UK managing director of intermediaries Phil Bayles assuming the chief distribution officer post, as well as the appointment of managing directors for personal and commercial lines.
