A seasoned executive who had worked at the three biggest insurance brokers in the world recently joined Arthur J.
Gallagher to strengthen its public sector expertise.
The international broker has appointed Mason as executive director in its specialist public sector and education practice in the UK.
In his new role, Mason will oversee the team of public sector client directors and support managing director Tim Devine on strategy, client service and business development as part of the management team.
Devine praised Mason for his industry experience, extensive technical knowledge and “enthusiasm for developing robust client-focused risk financing strategies.”
“Peter is hugely well-respected throughout our sector with a fantastic reputation for driving quality,” Devine said.
“His appointment reflects our commitment to recruiting respected, experienced professionals to best meet the needs of our expanding client base with their diverse risk profiles and bespoke requirements.”
Devine joins from Willis Towers Watson and brings more than 25 years of industry experience.
He previously spent 16 years at
Marsh where he led its public sector practice across the UK and Ireland, where he successfully developed a national strategy.
Earlier in his career, Devine worked as an account executive at
Aon, where he managed insurance for the SME sector.
