Argenta Holdings Limited has announced the appointment of Niranjan Nathan (pictured) as group chief risk officer, pending regulatory approval.

Nathan will take over the role from Carol-Ann Burton, who will continue as group general counsel and compliance director. Based in London, Nathan will report to Nick Moore, CEO of Argenta Holdings Limited and managing director of Argenta Syndicate Management Limited (ASML). He will also join the board of ASML.

Nathan brings over 20 years of experience in the global insurance industry, with expertise in risk, pricing, reserving, risk capital, strategy development, and transformation. He joins Argenta from EY, where he was a partner and the UK non-life actuarial practice leader.

Prior to EY, Nathan spent more than a decade at Swiss Re, where his roles included head of actuarial pricing UK, director group corporate strategy and development, and chief risk officer of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

In his new role, Nathan will lead Argenta’s risk team, overseeing the actuarial function and working to maintain a robust risk framework, strong governance, and effective risk controls.

Moore expressed his satisfaction with Nathan's appointment, highlighting his extensive industry experience and the significant role he will play in supporting Argenta's growth with a strong risk framework.

“We are delighted to appoint Niranjan to this key position. His vast experience in the industry makes him a real asset and he will play a crucial role in ensuring that Argenta’s continued growth is underpinned by a robust risk framework,” Moore said.

Nathan stated his excitement about joining Argenta at this stage in its ambitious strategy, expressing his eagerness to work with the board, executive team, and other teams across the business to strengthen the company's risk management framework and achieve Argenta’s vision and strategy.

In other recent developments, Argenta Syndicate Management Limited (ASML), a subsidiary of Argenta Holdings and Hannover Re, has announced the appointment of Miriam Goddard to its board as a non-executive director.
