Neil Higgins has been recruited to serve as facultative reinsurance head at The Ardonagh Group’s new business Inver Reinsurance Brokers (Inver Re).
Making the switch from Miller where he spent a decade and most recently held the position of property head, Higgins is credited for his role in growing a 12-strong team into a property and casualty division manned by more than 100 people.
At Inver Re, the key hire will be in charge of overseeing the creation of what was described as a “client-centric, strategic, flexible, and market-neutral” approach to facultative reinsurance solutions.
“Clients face increasingly complex challenges and by harnessing the strong foundations and reach of The Ardonagh Group, Inver Re is perfectly poised to structure exceptional solutions to address these needs,” commented Higgins, whose experience also spans senior posts at PWS and Newman Martin & Buchan.
“I’m truly excited to be building a facultative division with a singular focus on service excellence to ensure clients’ goals are met every time.”
Inver Re, the imminent launch of which was announced at the end of June, has ambitions to be among the top five reinsurance brokers globally.
“Neil is a proven leader who understands what it takes to build a reinsurance business that can deliver real value for clients,” added Ardonagh specialty chief James Masterton. “We are delighted to be welcoming him to Inver Re and the wider Ardonagh Group at this pivotal moment in our history.”
