Arch Insurance’s UK regional division has created four new leadership positions across property, casualty, specialty and digital underwriting.
All appointments to these roles were selected internally, and they all report to Stuart Danskin, director of underwriting at Arch Insurance’s UK regional division.
Amanda Keer (pictured above) has been appointed head of property. She joined Arch in 2020 and was most recently regional portfolio underwriting manager. Prior to Arch, she spent 11 years at LV=.
Carl Jago (pictured directly above) has been named head of casualty, after being promoted from underwriting manager for casualty. He joined Arch in 2021.
Tim Cornwell (pictured directly above) has been appointed head of specialty. He was previously branch manager for Maidstone, and he will keep his responsibilities in that position while taking on his new role. Cornwell joined Arch in 2019 as senior accident and health underwriter.
Mark Ellinor (pictured directly above) has been appointed head of digital underwriting, stepping up from national portfolio underwriting manager – online. He joined Arch in 2019 as schemes director, and has worked with several major industry names such as Legal & General, IGI and AXA.
“We have achieved considerable growth in recent years and are now of a size and scale that warrants a transition in our underwriting structure to support our future ambitions,” Danskin said regarding the appointments. “Amanda, Carl, Mark and Tim are market leaders in their fields. In their new sector-focused roles, they will lead the continued growth of our business as we expand our relevance to brokers and their clients.”
Arch UK also has announced the expansion of the regional scope of its underwriting managers. Randal Jones is now regional portfolio underwriting manager for the South, while Phil Clifford becomes regional portfolio manager for the North.
“Having empowered underwriters across our country-wide network of offices is a key differentiator for our UK regional division,” Danskin said. “In these expanded roles, Randal and Phil will be responsible for ensuring that we continue to provide this local autonomy to enable us to deliver the responsive service our brokers depend upon.”
