Arch Insurance International has announced the promotion of Tim Watson (pictured above) to credit underwriting manager, effective immediately.

In his new position, Watson will oversee all underwriting activities related to the company’s credit & political risk portfolio, which includes non-payment and non-delivery cover as well as a comprehensive range of political risk policies. He will remain based in London and report directly to Ed Cornish, head of credit & political risk.

Watson joined Arch in 2021 as a senior credit & political risk underwriter. Before that, he held a similar role at Canopius. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Watson serves as Chair of the International Underwriting Association of London’s Political Risks Committee.

Cornish noted that Watson’s expertise and contributions have been instrumental to the development of Arch’s portfolio.

“He has continued to demonstrate his leadership skills and depth of broker relationships, and in his new role, will play a central part in delivering on our ambitions both for the credit sector and wider portfolio,” Cornish said.

In other recent developments, Arch also announced the appointment of Ezechiel Symenouh as a senior cyber underwriter.

Symenouh is based in Paris and will focus on developing the company’s European cyber insurance portfolio, with a particular emphasis on France, Benelux, and the Nordic regions.

Symenouh joins Arch Insurance (EU) dac (AIEU), the division providing specialist property and casualty solutions across the European Union. He previously held roles at Tokio Marine HCC as a cyber underwriter and served as cyber risk practice leader at WTW France.

The AIEU cyber division provides both standalone and combined cyber & tech products on a primary and excess basis, serving industries such as manufacturing, retail, and financial institutions.
