Arch Insurance International has appointed Ketan Motwani (pictured above) as UK chief operating officer (COO), effective immediately. The appointment is also subject to regulatory approval.
As UK COO, Motwani will oversee key UK functions, including underwriting operations, process and operational excellence, and strategic portfolio management. He will work closely with the senior leadership team at Arch to support the company’s growth strategy.
Motwani brings over 20 years of experience in insurance operations and transformation leadership to the role. He joins Arch from Aon UK, where he was most recently chief operating officer-commercial risk (global, wholesale & specialty broking) with responsibilities for transformation, service delivery, operations, and digital platforms.
Before joining Aon, he held senior roles at Deloitte focused on insurance strategy, operations, and technology.
Based in London, Motwani will report to Hugh Sturgess, chief executive officer for Arch Insurance International, who also commented on the appointment, noting that Motwani brings an exceptional breadth of expertise.
“Ketan brings considerable experience in all aspects of operational and performance enhancement,” he said. “As Arch looks to build on the substantial market success we have achieved in recent years, he will have a central role in ensuring we maintain a fully optimised operating model across every aspect of our organisation.”
In other recent appointments for the insurer, Arch Insurance’s UK regional division recently announced the appointment of Adam Waterstreet as claims relationship manager. As part of the function, Waterstreet will oversee account management activities for brokers across the UK regions, focus on strengthening client relationships, and develop opportunities to enhance Arch’s claims proposition.
In May, Arch Insurance International also promoted Laura Brahams to head of third-party claims, with Brahams overseeing the third-party claims function encompassing casualty, cyber, financial lines, healthcare, intangible assets, and professional liability.
