Aon has appointed Alicia Goosen (pictured above) as the leader of its professional services group within the London Global Broking Centre.
In her newly assumed position, Goosen is tasked with enhancing Aon's growth in the professional services sector, particularly focusing on the London market. She aims to expedite the creation of innovative, specialist solutions tailored to meet the evolving requirements of clients in the legal, accounting, consulting, and design industries.
As per LinkedIn, Goosen's tenure at Aon began in 2011, where her roles have included head of commercial risk and chief broking officer for Aon in South Africa. Before her time at Aon, she was instrumental in leading the financial & professional services group locally and boasts over 15 years of experience at Marsh, serving as a divisional executive.
Positioned in the City, Goosen will directly report to John Brosnan, who oversees product specialties and the financial & professional services group at Aon.
Brosnan highlighted the significance of Goosen's appointment, noting her vast leadership experience and her proven track record in managing large broking teams and direct client engagement.
“Her expertise and principal role in overseeing a large broking team and experience of direct client management, will be highly valuable in the new post,” Brosnan said.
Goosen’s appointment follows Aon’s hiring of Philip Smaje, who has been tapped to serve as global chief broking officer for transportation and logistics at the broking giant’s commercial risk unit.
Elsewhere for the global brokerage, Aon has also managed to clear an antitrust hurdle in the US related to its planned acquisition for middle market property & casualty broker NFP.
