Global broking giant Aon has appointed Angela James to the newly created role of chief broking officer for commercial risk in the UK, which covers commercial risk in the Global Broking Centre (GBC) and the London and UK regions.
James, who joins the business in June 2022, will report to Aon head of commercial risk UK, James Baum. As chief broking officer, James will work closely with Baum and other UK commercial risk leaders to continue to build out its broking strategy, as well as that of the global network.
James has 15 years of insurance experience, with expertise in direct and facultative risk transfer solutions throughout the global marketplace. She joins from Willis Towers Watson, where she was most recently global P&C hub leader for WTW’s centres in London, Bermuda, Singapore, and Shanghai. James started her career at Aon as a graduate trainee in 2006, then joined WTW in 2014.
“Angela’s appointment is part of our continued focus to bring the best talent in the UK together to help our clients make better decisions in navigating their most difficult challenges,” commented Baum. “I’m looking forward to working with Angela as we expand our broking strategies across our retail, wholesale, and specialisms in the London market.”
