Aon has appointed Jane Kielty (pictured above) as head of commercial risk UK, succeeding James Baum.
Kielty will oversee all parts of Aon's commercial risk business in the UK, working to improve service and capability for clients nationwide. She will retain her role as UK chief commercial officer until a successor is appointed, with the recruitment process now underway.
Kielty joined Aon in 2005, holding leadership roles in various business areas. Prior to Aon, she was with Marsh for six years.
Baum will take a new role as head of wholesale and specialty broking. In this role, he will continue to lead the company’s Global Broking Centre in London and will be responsible for implementing Aon’s broking strategies across all international wholesale markets.
Baum has been with Aon for 17 years, relocating from Australia to the UK in 2021. In May, he was appointed as deputy chair of the London and International Insurance Brokers’ Association.
Both appointments are subject to approval from the Financial Conduct Authority. In their new roles, Baum and Kielty will work together in developing Aon’s retail and wholesale broking business, helping clients access the London, specialty and UK insurance markets. Baum and Kielty will remain members of Aon’s UK leadership team.
“Both James Baum and Jane Kielty are incredibly experienced leaders with vast expertise in delivering risk solutions for clients and business success,” said Julie Page, Aon CEO for the UK. “I know that they will bring their knowledge and skills together to shape our broking strategies and develop new products and propositions for our clients, helping them to make better decisions.”
