Antares Global has announced that appointments of Faraz Khalid and James Linsao as global chief risk officer and global chief operating officer, respectively.
Both Khalid and Linsao had served as a “fundamental part” of Antares Global’s senior leadership team, a release said, and their promotions “further strengthen the group’s strategic plans to add new insurance underwriting and related services for the UK domestic and international markets.”
Khalid is currently the chief risk officer for AntaresRe in Bermuda. As the new global chief risk officer, he succeeds Mark Graham, who will continue to serve as CEO of Antares Managing Agency.
Linsao was previously the general counsel at Antares Global. Prior to joining Antares, he held senior roles at Travelers in London, representing major US and London market carriers in private practice in the US. A release noted that Linsao was instrumental in increasing efficiency and aligning key operations across Antares’ international brands.
Khalid, Linsao, and Graham will continue to report to Antares Global CEO Mike van der Straaten.
To succeed Linsao as the new general counsel, Antares Global has promoted Cheryl Sweeney, who previously served as legal director. Before joining Antares, Sweeney previously led the legal and product development team at CNA Hardy, and held several roles at AIG in New York, Swiss Re, and boutique London market consultancies.
“In recent years, we have made considerable efforts to restructure and realign Antares to help unleash its full growth potential across new and existing sectors, geographies and distribution channels,” said van der Straaten. “The senior leadership changes and appointments announced today, in addition to some significant new hires last year, are very much part of execution of our plan. We will continue to focus on profitable growth and attracting the right talent, which will enable us to better serve our customers and maximise returns for our shareholders. We look forward to making further announcements about the strategic direction of Antares in due course and are excited about the future of this business for all of its stakeholders.”
Antares Global is the rebranded QIC Global of Qatar Insurance Group. The rebranding was first announced in September, to align QIC’s core companies under a single, unified identity.
