Lloyd’s managing agency Antares, which named its new chief executive last month, has made another senior appointment.
Martin Campbell, one of the founding partners of The Channel Syndicate, has been tapped to serve as head of financial institutions at Antares Syndicate 1274. The seasoned executive first joined the Lloyd’s market in 1990 and most recently held the role of financial lines head.
“Antares has an established reputation within the financial lines space, with an excellent team and a diversified book of business,” noted Campbell, whose experience includes time spent at Newline. “I look forward to working with Joe and the team to build out our offering.”
His appointment is effective immediately.
Commenting on the development, CEO Joe Battle said: “Antares has an established financial institutions team, with a wealth of underwriting talent and an excellent track record.
“Martin is a recognised market leader in the space, with a deep understanding of client needs and the evolving financial products market. Under Martin’s leadership, I am confident the business will build on its strengths and continue to flourish.”
Antares is part of the QIC (Qatar Insurance Company) Group, which acquired it in 2014.
