Allied World has today announced the launch of a UK commercial division, along with the appointment of a new leader for the arm who joins from Arthur J.
Gallagher.
The commercial division will primarily cover commercial combined, property owners, contractors all risks and combined liability, and will allow businesses to purchase a single product or a combination of different coverages to meet their needs through one application, the company’s European branch said in a release this morning.
Darren Rowe, who has 28 years of experience in the industry, including senior positions in several international broking houses, has been appointed as vice president and head of the commercial venture.
Allied’s president of global markets, Julian James, said that the move was part of the company’s focus on putting its customers first and developing offerings that best address the risks they face.
“Our clients tell us they need simple, affordable and flexible insurance solutions and our UK commercial division delivers just that — one application for a range of covers and a single point of contact for underwriting and claims to enable a swift and accurate response to any queries that might arise,” James said.
New head Rowe – who was previously a client and markets director in the market management team at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. – will lead the charge alongside Alan Thorne, vice president, UK sales & underwriting manager, and Dawn Zacharow, vice president, UK underwriting manager.
Thorne said he was “delighted” that Allied “can now provide clients with peace of mind regarding their coverage, leaving them free to focus on running their business.”
“We also know this product is something that brokers have been asking for over a number of years, as it will help raise awareness of complementary coverages as well as provide a “catch-all solution” for clients,” he commented.
