In a bid to continue maximising London market opportunities, Allianz Commercial has announced the promotion of Karen Pickersgill (pictured above) as the new regional underwriting manager for London.
The role will see Pickersgill driving growth and promoting expertise in the London property and casualty mid-corporate book. She will also hold key responsibilities for diversifying the primary and excess portfolios while leading the London underwriting team.
Pickersgill joined the firm in 1999 following tenures at Aviva and Cigna. Since then, she has held a number of underwriting management positions across the business, including property and casualty manager for Maidstone, followed by Luton. She most recently held the underwriting manager position for engineering, construction and power, London & South.
Allianz Commercial London regional manager Tom Leonard praised Pickersgill’s appointment, saying that she will bring extensive knowledge to the role, not only in terms of underwriting experience but also overall market knowledge.
“She is perfectly placed to lead our growth agenda, maximising opportunities in various directions, including leveraging new capabilities in multinational. I’m really looking forward to working with her, particularly at such an exciting time for our team,” Leonard said.
In other Allianz news, Allianz Group’s employee benefits network Allianz Group Benefits (AGB) has also officially joined the ranks of Allianz Partners, the provider of B2B2C insurance and assistance.
