Allianz has named Nadia Côté (pictured) as commercial managing director for the UK effective May 1.
Côté’s appointment is part of Allianz’s new integrated approach when it comes to its commercial insurance business. In the UK, this means bringing together Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) UK and Allianz Holding’s UK commercial business.
The goal is to have a single commercial lead in each country or region to represent the business for both mid-sized and large clients. Similar appointments have been made in Australia, Germany, and France. Including Britain, these countries are four of Allianz’s biggest property & casualty commercial insurance markets.
Commenting on Côté’s new post, AGCS chief executive Joachim Mueller said: “Nadia will play a key role going forward to bring Allianz Commercial to life in the UK market.
“The powerful, integrated approach in a global model combined with strong local execution and delivery will help us to unleash our full potential in targeting new business opportunities and providing new solutions and a wider offering to our customers across the full commercial segment.”
“Allianz Commercial is all about our brokers and clients, and making it as easy as possible for them to engage with us,” added Allianz UK CEO Colm Holmes. “Nadia is expertly positioned to lead our UK teams, presenting one face to market across commercial – keeping the trusted relationships and local know-how that our brokers and clients value, while providing global support and expertise.”
In Australia, Phuong Ly was appointed as chief general manager for Allianz Commercial; in France, Patrick Thiels as country managing director; and in Germany, Hans-Joerg Mauthe as commercial managing director. The insurance group said additional regional leaders for Allianz Commercial will be announced in due course.
