Allianz Insurance has appointed Karen Boothroyd (pictured above) to the newly created position of commercial branch manager for Leeds and Newcastle.
Boothroyd will lead the underwriting and distribution teams in the Leeds and Newcastle regions, as well as develop stronger relationships with broker partners and end customers. She will report to Chris Everett, Allianz’s regional manager for North.
Boothroyd joined Allianz in 2004 and held an assortment of roles within the company, mainly within the claims team, which she was part of for 14 years. Most recently, she was regional manager for Allianz’s engineering, construction and power (EC&P) division.
The move comes recently after Allianz announced that its commercial regions and engineering businesses will be more closely aligned. The UK operations will be overseen by four regional managers who have all been given enhanced roles, including EC&P business, commercial distribution and broker service.
“I am very happy to welcome Karen to the role of branch manager for Leeds and Newcastle, and I look forward to working very closely with her,” Everett said. “Creating a branch manager role in Leeds and Newcastle highlights our commitment to increasing our visibility and wanting to grow in these markets. Karen will play a very important role in fulfilling our ambitions of being the go-to insurer of choice for all our lines of business across Leeds and Newcastle.”
