Allianz Insurance Plc, one of the UK’s largest general insurers and part of the
Allianz Group, has appointed Dave Gill as head of operations.
Gill, who joined Allianz in 2010, will be in charge of leading all speciality operations for business lines. He was previously with Scottish & Newcastle Retail, Carphone Warehouse, and 3UK.
At Allianz, Gill started as sales contact centre manager for Petplan before moving to the role of operations head for corporate partner speciality in 2013. The following year he became head of operations for home and motor, and in 2016 began overseeing the claims handling centre in Bristol.
“I’m really pleased to have Dave in this critical operational role for Petplan,” commented Stephanie Smith, chief operating officer at Allianz Insurance. “His career at Allianz has demonstrated his versatility and he has an excellent understanding of operational issues.

Jon Dye recently said revenue growth at the UK unit remains at what he described as “a pleasing level,” noting strength in business retention even amid stiff competition.
