Allianz Holdings has appointed Alison Rayner (pictured) to the role of chief compliance and corporate affairs officer – a newly created role.
Rayner’s appointment is effective from February 2023, a release said; it is also subject to regulatory approval.
As chief compliance and corporate affairs officer, Rayner will be responsible for setting a clear strategy for Allianz – in terms of compliance and conduct relating to customers, clients, reputation, assets, and the interests of stakeholders as well as corporate and regulatory affairs. She will report to Allianz Holdings CEO Colm Holmes.
Rayner will be joining Allianz from Aviva, where she is currently group compliance and financial crime risk director. Before Aviva, she had also worked at RSA, BGL and Direct Line Group.
“I’m delighted to be welcoming Alison to this new position,” commented Colm Holmes. “The appointment of a chief compliance and corporate affairs officer continues Allianz’s investment in our second line of defence and builds on the great work already undertaken and ongoing in our Compliance team. Alison has an impressive track record and strong reputation in our market and is an extremely valuable addition to our executive committee.”
“This is a very exciting time to be joining Allianz and helping to play a part in developing its compliance strategy,” said Rayner. “The team at Allianz share my passion for doing the right thing for the customer and I will be championing that approach whilst setting a strategy for the business to navigate the fast-changing regulatory environment.”
A month ago, Allianz Holdings tapped Ashish Patel to serve as its new chief operating officer. Patel has worked for the Allianz Group for nine years, most recently leading the Global Delivery Network for Allianz Technology. He also previously served as head of Allianz Technology India.
