From the original six-year sponsorship partnership announced in 2012,
Allianz has now extended what it described as a successful deal with Saracens RFC to 2021.
“Since the beginning of the sponsorship, the Saracens team has achieved considerable success including winning the Premiership and Anglo Welsh cup double in 2014/15, winning the Premiership and a first ever European Champions Cup in 2015/16 which the club retained in an exciting final at Murrayfield the following season,” noted the insurer.
Allianz, which along with LV= is creating
the UK’s third biggest personal insurer, said Saracens’ success not only domestically, but also in Europe, has helped in growing the former’s brand profile in the country.
In 2013 Allianz Park officially opened as the club’s home, and has become the venue for community events held by the Saracens Sport Foundation. The stadium is one of seven Allianz currently has under its name, with an eighth one opening in 2019.
“We are delighted to renew our sponsorship and indeed our partnership with Allianz, one of the world’s great companies, who share our values and our desire to really mean something in our community,” commented Saracens chairman Nigel Wray. “There’s so much more to do and with Allianz we will be doing it.”
The Allianz Group companies represented by the sponsorship in the UK are Allianz Insurance Plc, Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty, Allianz Global Investors, and Allianz Worldwide Partners. Meanwhile both sides have no intention to disclose the financial element of the deal.
“There is an excellent cultural alignment between ourselves and Saracens, so I am delighted we are continuing our relationship,” said Jon Dye, chief executive of Allianz Insurance. “We are both achieving considerable success in highly competitive environments and our shared belief that this is only achieved through our people is another example of the good fit that exists between us.”
