In this expanded position, Hobbs will oversee all aspects of distribution for Allianz Commercial across Britain, encompassing large-corp, specialty, mid-corp, digital/SME, and engineering inspection.
The appointment comes as part of Allianz’s recent efforts to serve the global commercial insurance segment under a unified strategy, integrating the Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) business serving large corporate clients with its businesses serving mid-sized, country-based accounts.
Hobbs brings over 30 years of industry experience to his new role. He joined Allianz in 2001 and held various positions within AGCS in the UK, Europe, and North America. In 2011, he transitioned to Allianz UK as the head of strategic account management and later assumed the role of director, broker markets. In July 2021, he was named chief distribution and regions officer for Allianz Holdings’ commercial business in the UK.
Nadia Côté, commercial managing director UK, commented on Hobbs’ appointment and emphasised the strategic significance of the new post.
