The office of the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) on Gallery 4 of the Lloyd’s building will be closed starting tomorrow (March 17) as LMA’s entire workforce has been asked to work from home.
The remote working arrangement, which is part of the trade body’s business continuity plan amid the coronavirus pandemic, will last until the end of the month. Meanwhile all of LMA’s committee and ad-hoc meetings have been hosted via conference call or video conferencing since March 13.
“We recognise that this is a different way of working – we are fully equipped and prepared to continue working as close to usual as possible with the London Market,” stated the association. “If you have any questions, please contact any member of the LMA team.”
In addition, all LMA events and Academy Programmes are postponed until the end of April.
In a separate development, AEGIS London has decided to ask most of its employees to work from home starting today and until further notice.
“We are doing this to protect the health of our staff and because we believe it is the most effective way to maintain our service to brokers and clients in the face of unprecedented circumstances,” said the Lloyd’s syndicate in a post on LinkedIn.
“In order to ensure it’s as close to business as usual as possible, a reduced number of our staff will be present in our office and at our box in Lloyd’s. We remain open for business and are accessible via the usual phone numbers and emails.”
