Alan Boswell Group (ABG) has announced that Priory Insurance Brokers, a Norfolk-based commercial and personal lines insurance broker founded in 1973, will be joining the group.

Priory Insurance Brokers, located in Wymondham, will maintain its trading name for the time being. The company’s staff and premises will also remain in place. ABG also noted that clients of Priory will gain access to the additional support and services provided by ABG, which has a team of 420 professionals.

Mark Whitmore (pictured above), managing director of Priory Insurance Brokers, highlighted the acquisition as an integral milestone for the firm.

“We are excited to join Alan Boswell Group and continue delivering the same level of care and dedication our clients expect. As part of a larger brokerage, we can leverage their extensive resources and expertise to enhance the value we offer our clients,” Whitmore said.

“I’m pleased to welcome Priory Insurance Brokers to the group. As soon as we met Mark, we knew the team would be an excellent fit for us. Their years of expertise and shared values align perfectly with ours and we are excited about the opportunities this will bring for our clients,” ABG executive chairman Alan Boswell said.

Alan Boswell Group was established in Norfolk in 1982 and has developed expertise in offering specialist and independent advice for a variety of personal and commercial needs. The company serves over 70,000 clients and employs more than 420 staff across eight offices in East Anglia, Cambridgeshire, and Lincolnshire.

This acquisition comes after ABG's earlier purchase of The Insurance Centre, another brokerage based in Norwich.

As part of the deal, the entire workforce of The Insurance Centre was integrated into the group’s head office at Prospect House in Norwich.
