American International Group (AIG) has announced the appointment of Clara Brady as chief underwriting officer for international casualty. In this role, Brady (pictured above) will lead the overall strategic direction and objectives for international casualty underwriting.

Brady is based in Zurich and will report to Lex Baugh, global chief underwriting officer for casualty and financial lines, and John Hancock, CEO of International General Insurance for AIG. She succeeds Patrick Mailloux, who has retired from the company.

Prior to joining AIG, Brady served as global head of liability at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty. She has also served in leadership positions at Swiss Re. Brady began her career as an underwriter at Chubb.

“Clara is an exceptional leader and brings tremendous casualty underwriting experience to the team,” Baugh and Hancock said in a joint statement. “We look forward to her expertise as we deliver value and enhanced customer experience around the world.”
