AIG has appointed 29 firms to its UK legal panel, with giants Clifford Chance and DLA Piper among those winning slots.
The appointments will run for two years, according to a report by Legal Week. The firms will handle both claims and legal work for AIG. Patrick Fennelly, head of AIG’s legal operations centre, managed the review. It was overseen by EMEA GC Chris Newby.
AIG also recently created to new specialist UK sub-panels to focus on M&A insurance work and asset management work, according to Legal Week. Those panels include law firms such as Preshfields, which took a prominent role for AIG last year when the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board purchased the insurer’s stake in Lloyd’s of London syndicate Ascot Underwriting.
