Aegon UK has appointed former LV= chief executive Mike Rogers as non-executive chairman.

Rogers, who is also non-executive director at Royal Bank of Scotland and Experian, served as CEO at LV= from 2006 to 2016. The Financial Adviser cited a particular period under his leadership wherein the mutual recovered from a £20 million loss to a £195 million profit.

“We are delighted that he has accepted the role and his experience will help us to deliver on our strategy of supporting the financial advisers and workplace customers with the best tools and service in the market,” said Aegon UK chief executive Adrian Grace, as quoted by the report.

The new chair, who was with Barclays Bank for almost two decades, commented: “I am looking forward to working with the management at a time when demand for financial advice, the growth of the defined contribution savings market, and the increasing requirement for scale in the platform market make this an exciting sector of financial services.”

The Edinburgh-headquartered firm employs more than 2,000 people, providing life insurance, pensions, and asset management.
