Insurance broker Adrian Flux saves the day – not only is it taking over the lease on a Swinton Insurance call centre that was due to close in September, it has offered employment for the affected staff.

A report by Norwich Evening News said 117 of the 146 employees have already accepted Adrian Flux’s offer. The rest have until September 01 to decide.

“This is a great opportunity to not only give the staff at Rosary Road another chance in insurance but also to grow our business in a vibrant city,” said Adrian Flux general manager Paul Twite, as quoted by the report.

He added: “This is a win-win-win: the staff are getting a redundancy [package] and then, if they want, start with us the next day; we are getting an office in Norwich with staff with insurance experience; and Swinton Insurance have looked after their staff and helped us through the process.”

Earlier this year Swinton said it was closing branches as 90% of its customers now buy insurance over the phone or online instead of going to the physical offices. The company is also concentrating its call centre services at its Manchester head office.

According to the report, Adrian Flux and Swinton will share the Norwich office from August 01 as the Swinton redundancy is being carried out on July 31 and September 30.
