Mike Rogers (pictured) has officially succeeded Annette Court, who retired from the board at Admiral Group Plc’s annual general meeting on Thursday, as chair of the financial services group.
“Following receipt of regulatory and shareholder approval, Admiral Group Plc confirms the appointment of Mike Rogers as a non-executive director and chair of the Admiral board as well as chair of the Admiral board nomination and governance committee,” the Welsh company said in a London Stock Exchange filing.
When the appointment was first announced at the end of January, Rogers described the three-decade-old firm as “fantastic” and as being known for its strong performance and unique culture.
At the time, Admiral chief executive Milena Mondini de Focatiis said: “I am pleased to welcome Mike onto the group board and look forward to working with him and the rest of the board as we continue to deliver on our promises to our stakeholders.
“On behalf of all my colleagues, I would like to thank Annette for the incredible support she has provided to me, her dedication to both the business and the board, and the wisdom she shared with us all.”
Aside from Admiral, Rogers also chairs Experian Plc and Aegon UK. His credentials include time spent as top boss at LV=, UK retail banking managing director at Barclays, and non-executive director at the Association of British Insurers.
Court previously called Rogers “an excellent choice” for the post.
