Two senior hires are bringing a combined 75-plus years of (re)insurance market experience to Acrisure Re.
Joining from Ed Broking and Securis ILS Management, respectively, are London-based executive vice president Ian Wicks and Bermuda-based senior vice president Simon Arnott. Their placement is effective immediately.
“I have known Ian and Simon for a long time, and they are both excellent additions to our team,” commented Acrisure Re chief executive Simon Hedley. “Their wealth of knowledge and industry experience will further enhance our offering.”
Acrisure Re is the reinsurance division of global insurance broker Acrisure.
“I am so pleased to welcome Ian to our casualty team in London and look forward to working with him as we expand our footprint in third-party lines,” said partner Nigel Dane. “His knowledge and breadth of contacts will be invaluable.”
Aside from Ed Broking, where he chaired the company’s non-marine reinsurance unit, Wicks’ credentials also include time spent at Harman, Wicks & Swayne, Willis Re, and JLT Re. At Acrisure Re, his remit will involve a broader strategic role.
Arnott, meanwhile, will be in charge of sourcing new business in Bermuda. He was business development head for the non-life division at Securis ILS Management. Previously, he was executive vice president and head of catastrophe lines at Tokio Millennium Re.
“I am delighted to welcome Simon to the Bermuda team,” added Acrisure Re Bermuda president Clark Hontz. “His vast experience in structuring and pricing programmes, extensive knowledge of the ILS market, and broad network of global market relationships will significantly enhance our production capabilities and market insights. I look forward to working with him.”
