3XD returns to unemployment market

Lancashire-based 3XD, a general insurance provider that is now part of Global Risk Partners (GRP) and offers insurance products to customers through financial intermediaries, has returned to the accident sickness and unemployment (ASU) market after two years.

Two years ago, 3XD withdrew from the unemployment market when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the UK and the rest of the world. It released the accident and sickness elements of its ASU cover back to the market in August 2020, although unemployment was still not widely available.

However, as people remain concerned about job security, 3XD reintroduced the unemployment element of its ASU cover early this month, driving immediate demand from consumers.

“There is [a] great demand within ASU for the unemployment element, and we’ve worked hard with our underwriters to reinstate it,” said Chris Baron (pictured), head of marketing and distribution at 3XD. “We’re very early back into the market with it, one of the first, and it’s been hugely welcomed. We’ve seen a very quick and positive response with strong sales and quotes.”
