Kingfisher Insurance has formed new exclusive club partnership schemes through its classic vehicle insurance brand, Peter James Insurance.

These schemes were formed with two MG enthusiast clubs, the MG Octagon Car Club and the Midget and Sprite Club (MASC).

The MG Octagon Car Club was established in 1969 for enthusiast pre-1956 MGs, including the YB and original TF models. Meanwhile, MASC was formed nearly two decades ago to bring together enthusiasts of the Midgets and Sprites models.

Members of both clubs will have access to a number of insurance options, including exclusive rates, member-to-member cover, and free salvage retention, according to an emailed statement from Kingfisher.

The schemes also include various levels of cover for young drivers, as part of a move to support “the next generation of [classic car] enthusiasts.”

“These two clubs represent two very different eras of MG and therefore require a scheme that is truly tailored to their needs,” said Dave Youngs, partnership director at Peter James Insurance.

“We have been able to achieve that by working closely with the volunteers who run both clubs to design a scheme based on the exact requirements of members. These new insurance schemes will not only provide competitive insurance cover but will also invest in the clubs to ensure they remain healthy, active and able to invest in members’ benefits.”

Kingfisher’s latest partnership schemes come after a similar collaboration with The Kettle Club, which is focused on the Suzuki GT 750 classic motorcycle model.

Other benefits included in Kingfisher’s new MG schemes are UK and European breakdown, free agreed value, cover for tools and spare parts, a self-repair option, and legal expenses cover.
