Kingfisher Insurance has announced an exclusive partnership between its classic vehicle insurance brand, Peter James Insurance, and the Ariel Owners Motorcycle Club. The partnership aims to provide new insurance tailored to club members.

Founded in 1951 at the Ace Cafe, the Ariel Owners Motorcycle Club looks to promote and encourage interest in the Ariel marque. It does so through different events spanning the year, a monthly magazine called the ‘Cheval de Fer’, and support for the continued running of historic machines using an extensive stock of spares and archives of Ariel-related materials.

The scheme with Kingfisher has been designed with the help of club management and members, with policy benefits to support the enjoyment of Ariel motorcycles.

Members will now benefit from:

  • Member-to-member cover – riding another club member’s classic Ariel with a fully comprehensive cover
  • Free agreed value
  • Free salvage retention
  • UK & European breakdown cover
  • Helmet and leathers cover
  • Legal expenses cover
  • Cover for tools, spare parts, and accessories
  • Self-repair option
  • Multi-vehicle options (including cover for modern bikes when insured as part of a classic multi-bike policy)

In 2024, Peter James Insurance announced several new exclusive partnerships. These included collaborations with powerhouses like The Kettle Club, MG Octagon Car Club, Midget and Sprite Club, 2CVGB, and the Morgan Sports Car Club.

“Peter James has been at the heart of the historic motorcycle movement throughout our history, so it is fantastic to be able to partner with the Ariel Owners Motorcycle Club. We have worked closely with the club to create an insurance product that meets their club member’s needs and protects these iconic British bikes for future enjoyment,” said Dave Youngs, partnerships director at Peter James Insurance.

“We’re excited to launch Ariel Owners Motorcycle Club Insurance with Peter James. The benefits it includes bring more value to our club membership and support our aim of the continued enjoyment of Ariels,” Mike Morgan, chairman of Ariel Owners Motorcycle Club, added.
