First Underwriting has launched a new motorsport insurance brand called Slipstream Underwriting.
Slipstream Underwriting is comprised of a “highly experienced motorsport team” that have joined the First Underwriting family. By utilising their combined proven experience in motorsport with their in-depth knowledge of insurance, they have created a “suite of motorsport specific products, created by motorsport people,” a release said.
The new business will offer a wide range of motor, commercial combined, and property products that are customised to the needs of motorsport participants, teams, and businesses.
“For over 30 years my passion has been motorsport, and by creating Slipstream Underwriting, we can secure the future for our beloved sport and those businesses and people that work within it,” said Slipstream Underwriting managing director Mark Taylor (pictured). “Our targeted and focused understanding of motorsport, has enabled us to develop ‘fit for purpose’ and enhanced products for motorsport brokers and their customers. We are very much looking forward to building long and successful relationships with our specialist broking partners.”
“We are always looking at how we can improve the products and services that we provide to our broker partners,” said First Underwriting managing director Tom Donachie.
Donachie added that Slipstream Underwriting was created because First Underwriting found that brokers wanted an insurance provider who “really understands both the motorsport and insurance sector.”
“At First Underwriting, underwriting excellence is in our DNA, and we thrive in niche and specialist areas of insurance, so this was a perfect opportunity for us,” the managing director stated. “We’re excited to see what Mark and the team achieve with Slipstream Underwriting.”
Last November, First Underwriting named Gemma Stanley to the newly created role of operations director. Stanley will lead the company’s operations functions and technology transformation programme.
