The retail insurance division of AXA UK is welcoming two senior hires on May 04.
Appointed as retail chief operating officer is Anna Fleming (pictured above), who will make the switch from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB). Fleming’s credentials include time spent as MIB COO, Zurich chief claims officer, and solicitor at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert LLP.
“It’s great to be joining AXA at this exciting time,” said Fleming. “I look forward to working with the brilliant retail team which Tara has assembled and really delivering for our customers.”
Meanwhile Marco Distefano (pictured below) has been tapped to serve as managing director for motor and home. He most recently led the direct business at Aviva, where worked for one and a half decades until late last year.
Commenting on his appointment, the delighted-to-join MD stated: “We are in an unprecedented period of change for the retail insurance market, and AXA is well placed to lead and innovate for customers.
“I am looking forward to working closely with the team and our distribution partners to support our shared growth ambitions. Together we will evolve our strategy right to proposition and create increasing value for our customers.”
Both Distefano and Fleming will report to retail insurance chief Tara Foley, who cited the duo’s proven track record of driving innovative transformation and strategic change. “I’m excited to work with them on delivering our strategy within AXA Retail,” she said.
