Autonet Insurance has hired 80 people for its new office in Manchester city centre and is looking for more.
A report by Manchester Evening News said the new location will support Autonet’s personal lines team in Stoke-on-Trent. A business insurance proposition will also be worked out with the commercial team.
“Manchester is the insurance powerhouse of the north and we are delighted to have opened our first office in the city. We have been fortunate to hire 80 high-calibre insurance professionals who will be of real assistance to the 650 of us back in Stoke,” said managing director Ian Donaldson, as quoted by the report.
According to MIDAS, Manchester’s inward investment agency, the city has the largest general insurance community outside of London.
“We look forward to working with Autonet further as they settle into the city and look to tap into this talent pool,” said MIDAS chief executive Tim Newns, citing Manchester’s skilled professional services labour market.
