Insurer solutions provider Activate Group Limited (AGL) has launched what is said to be a first of its kind service dedicated to the British motorhome and caravanning community.
With about 550,000 such leisure vehicles in the UK, as estimated by the National Caravan Club, AGL aims to help insurance firms and this niche group of clients by launching Motorhome Repair Network (MRN) – a nationwide network of specialist repairers accredited to ISO 9001 or PAS 125 standard. Aside from offering specialist motorhome repair service, the centres are strategically located in relation to holiday destinations.
“AGL is stepping in to fill a significant gap in the market,” commented AGL chair Mark Wilcox. “Without access to a network of specialist repairers who are used to dealing with motorhomes, caravans, horseboxes, and GRP repairs, insurance providers have no option but to route customer repairs through their existing networks. All too often, this results in valued customers encountering delays or receiving sub-standard service.”
He explained that many non-specialist repairers lack the “wide enough” repair bays for this particular group of vehicles, not to mention the required expertise and equipment.
“Now, for the first time, AGL’s Motorhome Repair Network offers a specialist repair network that insurance providers can have complete confidence in,” said Wilcox.
MRN also provides courtesy holiday travel vehicles.
“For insurers, the combination of a dependable specialist repair network and ready access to appropriate courtesy replacement vehicles should mean no more disappointed customers whose holidays have been badly disrupted,” added the chairman.
AGL’s other businesses include driving risk management services for the fleet industry; claims management services for commercial, fleet, and heavy goods vehicles; and an approved nationwide repair network for personal lines insurance claims.
