Activate Group has announced the acquisition of two Motorcare bodyshops, located in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, and Bristol, marking the company’s first purchase of established repair sites. The move is supported by Elysian Capital, which increased its stake in Activate Group earlier this year.
The group is hoping to enhance its repair capabilities in high-demand regions. The newly acquired sites will be rebranded under the Activate Accident Repair division and upgraded to meet the company’s standards, including with advanced repair technology and sustainable practices.
“Our acquisition of these Motorcare sites is a strategic step to better support our fleet and insurer clients, meeting the demands of our growing customer base in high-need areas,” said Hannah Wilcox, CEO of Activate Group. “We’re thrilled to welcome the skilled teams at Tunbridge Wells and Bristol into the Activate family and to build on their existing strengths.”
The Tunbridge Wells facility, equipped to handle a range of vehicles, including electric and hybrid models, is expected to bolster Activate Group’s presence in Kent. The site is focused on supporting high-end repairs and handling prestige and specialty vehicles.
The Bristol bodyshop, located in the Southwest, is expected to enhance the group’s ability to provide accident repair services in the region.
Activate Group and its subsidiaries offer comprehensive accident management services to insurers, fleet providers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and brokers. The group manages claims for corporate and commercial fleets through its division, sopp+sopp, operates a nationwide network of approved repair centres for insurance claims through Motor Repair Network, supplies parts and consumables through Activate Parts, and manages its own bodyshop division, Activate Accident Repair. Headquartered in the UK, Activate Group employs over 700 people.
