Global re/insurer MS Amlin has announced the creation of a new partnerships division as part of its evolving distribution strategy.
The initiative aims to capitalize on growth opportunities from established and emerging sources, leveraging connections within the MS&AD Group network and other strategic channels.
The newly formed Partnerships team will oversee collaborations with entities such as MS&AD Ventures, MS Transverse, and the wider MS&AD Group network.
These partnerships will focus on risk-sharing initiatives and managing MS Amlin’s share of key London market facilities, algorithmic fast-follow relationships, and projects under Lloyd’s Innovation and Transition risk codes.
The division will operate alongside MS Amlin’s existing insurance and reinsurance units and will report to the office of the chief underwriting officer. The team is designed to support product and distribution innovation, addressing emerging trends in distribution.
Sam Geddes (pictured above), deputy chief underwriting officer, will lead the new division, with Simon Morgan, head of property and allied lines, managing underwriting operations.
Martin Burke, chief underwriting officer at MS Amlin, highlighted the increasing volume of distribution opportunities coming from both the MS&AD network and the broader market.
“We’re seeing more exciting distribution opportunities presented to us from within the MS&AD network as well as the broader market, so it makes sense to mirror these distribution developments with a dedicated unit where we can give existing and new potential partnerships the time and attention they need,” Burke said.
“As we extend our footprint in the market at a product and distribution level, our brokers can expect more dynamic conversations about how we will grow our business and support our mutual clients,” he said.
By establishing the partnerships division, MS Amlin said that it aims to align its resources with market developments and strengthen its ability to innovate in both product and distribution strategies.
