VIG Re has announced changes to its board of management, effective Jan. 1, which it says is aimed at enhancing the company’s strategic direction and operational performance.
Ivana Jurčíková (pictured above, left), currently a member of the board, will take on the newly created role of chief operating officer. In this capacity, Jurčíková will lead the company’s digital transformation initiatives and work to streamline operations while improving customer service.
Wolfgang Hajek (pictured above, right) has been appointed as chief financial officer, joining the board of management. Hajek brings a wealth of experience in insurance, corporate finance, and asset management. As CFO, he will oversee all financial aspects of VIG Re, including financial planning and regulatory balance sheet management.
Jurčíková has been with VIG Re since 2016, having served on the board of management. Her background includes leadership roles at major international institutions such as Citibank and AXA Bank Europe.
In 2024, she was inducted into the #FinŽeny Hall of Fame for her contributions to the Czech finance sector. Jurčíková holds a degree from the University of Economics in Prague, Czech Republic.

Hajek’s career spans various roles within Vienna Insurance Group, including CFO of Asigurarea Romaneasa Asirom since 2019, as well as positions at VIG Asset Management and the Affiliated Companies Department.
He holds a doctoral degree in law from the University of Vienna, an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management, and multiple degrees in Law and Finance from the University of Graz, Austria.
