Brazilian reinsurer Latin Re has marked its fifth year in business. Established in 2019, the company is notably the first firm in the country to secure its own Lloyd's Broker license.
To commemorate the anniversary, Latin Re hosted an event on Aug. 8 in São Paulo. The gathering drew over 500 attendees, including insurers, brokers, and other industry participants from more than 10 countries.
The company said that the event served as a reflection on the company's growth and achievements over the past five years.
Latin Re also reflected on its significant expansion since its founding. In 2023, the company reported a 50% growth, driven by new business deals and an expanded Specialties team to meet client needs.
The company also anticipates similar growth in 2024 and continues to invest in skilled personnel and advanced technology to enhance data analysis and risk management.
Felipe Aragão, chief commercial officer of Latin Re, said the company was committed to excellence in service and its vision for the future.
He also said that the company's growth is a result of the dedication of its team and expressed optimism about the next five years.
Maria Eduarda Bomfim, CEO of Latin Re, highlighted the firm's growing international presence and the recognition it has received for its approach to business.
“Besides being thankful to everyone that has believed in our project and have supported us, we are very proud to see our Latin Re way of doing business highly regarded and welcome wherever we go,” Bomfim said. “We are thrilled to see our company now marking a presence in the region with our Brazilian way, practical, trustful and effective. Thank you all for having trusted us and may it continue being a successful journey to us all together.”
