This month, AIA Vitality marks its fifth anniversary since launching in New Zealand in 2019.
The program, initiated by AIA New Zealand (AIA NZ), focuses on promoting health and wellness among its nearly 60,000 members by offering resources and incentives aimed at improving their overall wellbeing.
According to recent reports from AIA NZ, the program has made a measurable impact on participants’ health.
Notably, 79% of members improved their glucose levels to a healthier range, 64% achieved better cholesterol levels, and 49% saw improvements in their blood pressure.
Furthermore, while less than half of the general population meets the recommended physical activity guidelines, 95% of AIA Vitality Silver+ members surpass these targets.
Angela Busby, chief customer officer at AIA NZ, emphasised the significance of the program’s growth and the positive outcomes observed among members.
“Five years is a special milestone for AIA Vitality. These positive results tell us we are delivering on our purpose, which is to help New Zealanders live healthier, longer, better lives,” she said.
Busby highlighted the company’s broader mission to enhance the quality of life for New Zealanders and noted that members have earned a substantial number of rewards.
“At AIA, we don’t want to just protect lives; we want to help make them better every single day, and we applaud our members for making the most of AIA Vitality. It’s about recognising the small moments and the big. Together, our members have achieved over 86,800 Status Reward vouchers and 976,500 Active Rewards vouchers – a combined worth of $9.1 million in rewards,” she said. “This is just the beginning of a long, healthy future for AIA Vitality, and it’s the tip of the iceberg when it comes to showing the meaningful difference AIA Vitality is making to the lives of New Zealanders.
“We look forward to continuing to empower people to take charge of their health and wellbeing and seeing these results increase over time.”
In April, AIA NZ released an updated version of the AIA Vitality app, incorporating new features designed to enhance user experience and support members in their health and wellness endeavours.
This month, AIA NZ appointed a new AIA Vitality coach, who will focus on increasing the program’s visibility and value to clients and partners.
