With more than two decades of experience primarily in the financial services realm, Lomax's career has spanned sales, strategy, and client services.

“We're delighted to have Cath join the Southern Cross team,” said Nick Astwick, CEO of Southern Cross Health Insurance. “As well as being in the business of health, we're also in the business of people – be it serving our members or our people. Cath brings to this role a wealth of experience which will undoubtedly allow us to build on our reputation for being a great employer.”

Cath Lomax's career

Previously serving as chief client officer at Fisher Funds for over four years, Lomax spearheaded the growth and management of client-facing, advice, and operations teams. Her background also includes a tenure as general manager – people at Bank of New Zealand, where she was tasked with formulating and implementing a people strategy for various teams, including risk, finance, strategy and transformation, insurance, and wealth.

During her time at Bank of New Zealand, Lomax initiated a senior female leader mentoring program and oversaw the rollout of a staff banking proposition centred on a human-centric design approach.

Lomax joins Southern Cross following the appointment of Regan Savage as chief sales and marketing officer.
