Chubb has announced the launch of
Chubb Connect, a suite of value-added services for Kiwi leisure travelers. These services include complimentary Wi-Fi and SOS alerts.
Chubb Connect, piloted in Australia in May, is now also available in New Zealand and Singapore. The app will be launched to other countries in the region in due course, Chubb said.
“With the Chubb Connect app, not only do customers stay connected but they can also opt to receive SOS alerts informing them of travel disruptions as and when these happen,” said Jon Ford, head of partnership distribution for Chubb Asia Pacific.
The app delivers SMS and email in real-time, which Ford said will help customers make informed decisions before and during their travels. It also connects travelers to Chubb’s 24/7 emergency hotline if they require help in a foreign land.
Chubb’s Global head of travel insurance, Alex Blake, said that Chubb Connect is an addition to insurance protection and assistance. “Chubb Connect will represent significant additional value to our leisure travel customers and partners,” Blake said.
Chubb Connect is powered by global telecommunications provider United Networks.
Some functions of the app are still to be released. The complimentary WiFi is for a set number of days, after which travelers are able to pay for further WiFi access.
