AA Pet Insurance has unveiled an innovative partnership, providing its customers with convenient access to expert veterinary guidance at their fingertips.
The collaboration introduces VetChat, an online platform that seamlessly connects pet owners with seasoned New Zealand registered veterinarians. Within minutes, users can engage in chat or video calls to seek assistance for their pets through the Sydney-based platform. VetChat is a telehealth for pets, providing peace of mind to families through its wide network of trusted veterinarians.
VetChat founder Dr Claire Jenkins emphasised the importance of swift intervention, saying, “We recognize that even the slightest sign of illness can evoke a sense of urgency, which is where VetChat comes to the rescue.”
Jenkinssaid VetChat’s approach centres around attentive listening during the chat with collaborative efforts aimed at uncovering the underlying issues and aided by multimedia resources such as photos and videos. This approach results in a transformation of veterinary consultations into meaningful dialogues, ultimately yielding actionable care directives.
Under this new initiative, AA Pet Insurance is extending a complimentary VetChat consult membership to both existing and new policyholders. This membership entitles them to up to four consultations per month, each facilitated by accomplished New Zealand registered veterinarians throughout the duration of their policy. Existing policyholders can effortlessly join the program by registering with their email address and policy number.
AA Pet Insurance senior marketing manager Becky McQuoid said that this new partnership underscores the company's commitment to facilitating pet care for New Zealanders.
“We understand the emotional strain and anxiety that can arise when a pet falls ill, akin to a member of the family. Ensuring that our customers have access to support, reassurance, and guidance precisely when they need it holds immense significance for us,” McQuoid said.
As part of its efforts to highlight its achievement, AA Insurance also unveiled its biggest achievements in the last year including its contributions to parent company Suncorp’s successes in the last quarter.
