The new product caters to both single vehicle owners and larger fleets of vehicles across a range of industries. In July, Insurance Business spoke to DUAL NZ underwriting manager Damian Browne about the new proposition and the firm’s intentions to be a full motor player.
“We are delighted to be launching this new Motor product to our broker network,” Browne said in a news release. “Although motor insurance is one of the largest classes in New Zealand, with NZD 2.7bn GWP written in 2022, the options for brokers placing business has been limited to just a few insurers. DUAL has over 22 years’ experience in this business line, and the team has been working hard to build an offering that aims to widen choice for our brokers and their clients. With claims handled by Sedgwick, brokers can also be assured of an excellent client-focused service.”
“We are very excited to be partnering with DUAL New Zealand in providing an alternative motor insurance offering to the market,” said Mark Fleiser, managing director of HDI Global Specialty SE – New Zealand. “We are committed to supporting DUAL New Zealand to develop a sustainable Motor portfolio servicing the diverse product needs of brokers and clients in what is a challenging market environment.”
DUAL NZ is also heading up another niche motor product specifically for classic motor and prestige motor vehicles, with specialized, bespoke propositions available for owners of these vehicles.
DUAL New Zealand was awarded as Most Diverse Insurance Companies in NZ in the recent 5-Star Diversity, Equity & Inclusion 2023. Read the full report here.
